[ NNSquad ] SNMP value and limitations

Just to clarify, I think it's safe to say that none of us suggesting
the use of SNMP as an early data source consider it to be very much
other than a single sort of metric -- primarily useful to start
gathering some relatively easily obtainable statistics for initial
use as we evolve the project infrastructure.

We presumably want to move toward purpose-built data gathering software
and systems as rapidly as possible, but SNMP is available right now
and does have real value from both an R&D and operational standpoint.
