As far as I'm concerned, Wall Street is largely responsible, in league
with Congress, for wrecking the manufacturing base of this country,
and seems hellbent on doing the same for the service sector. Wall
Street's emphasis on short term profits has poisoned so much, and its
leaders continue to be so flagrantly scot-free for their crimes, that
it's a breath of fresh air when a firm like Google won't kowtow to
them. If Wall Street had been in charge of the ARPANET, I'd probably
be typing this now on an IBM Selectric typewriter ...
