Entertainment industry lawyers attack lawyer helping defendants

I'm having trouble in my non-lawyer mind figuring out what the legal
basis is for attacking a lawyer providing self-help documents.
That it's costing the plaintiffs money seems like a "shucks, that's
the way it goes" situation. Anyone out there able to actually
explain this in a way that makes sense?
