EFF: AT&T, Comcast, and Snapchat are laggards on privacy policies (Ars Technica): http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2014/05/att-comcast-and-snapchat-are-laggards-on-privacy-policies/ The highest ratings -- companies given six stars -- were handed to Apple, Credo Mobile, Dropbox, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Sonic, Twitter, and Yahoo. The report, (PDF) released Thursday, reviewed 26 companies in all, rating them on everything from whether they require warrants for data handovers to whether they have publicly opposed mass surveillance and fight for "users' privacy rights in courts." The study found that Snapchat, AT&T, and Comcast lagged "behind others." Snapchat was among the biggest privacy underachievers, earning one star. - - - --Lauren-- Lauren Weinstein (lauren@vortex.com): http://www.vortex.com/lauren Co-Founder: People For Internet Responsibility: http://www.pfir.org/pfir-info Founder: - Network Neutrality Squad: http://www.nnsquad.org - PRIVACY Forum: http://www.vortex.com/privacy-info Member: ACM Committee on Computers and Public Policy Lauren's Blog: http://lauren.vortex.com Google+: http://google.com/+LaurenWeinstein Twitter: http://twitter.com/laurenweinstein Tel: +1 (818) 225-2800 / Skype: vortex.com _______________________________________________ nnsquad mailing list http://lists.nnsquad.org/mailman/listinfo/nnsquad
