Warning: Time Warner-CBS Clash Points Up Big Trouble Ahead http://j.mp/1b7Hiew (Huffington) You've probably never heard of Susan Crawford. But these days there ought to be dozens of airplanes pulling banners with her name on them flying over New York City, Los Angeles and Dallas -- signs that also read: "DAMMIT SUSAN YOU WERE RIGHT." - - - And lest you believe that the current clash doesn't have direct implications for net neutrality concerns, given the willingness of these telecom giants to play fast and loose, leaving viewers and subscribers swinging in the breeze ... well, think about that some more! These guys know the Internet is the future of broadcasting, and are demonstrating their power to choke off contracted content irrespective of how it harms consumers. TWC is as responsible as CBS, since CBS is reacting directly to TWC, and the inverse. Since there's so little effective high-speed Internet access competition, we've also seen the specter of TWC users in areas unaffected by TWC dropping CBS in major markets, and users of TWC wholesale Internet services, being blocked by CBS' blanket TWC ban. I've seen this all described as two dinosaurs fighting over a bone as an asteroid streaks toward them.
