"XKEYSCORE" - The *least* secret NSA program in recent memory You may have heard quite a bit of breathless reporting today about a supposedly new "expose" from Edward Snowden's document cache -- regarding the NSA "XKEYSCORE" program. You can look up the various stories easily enough, but there are a few points of note: 1) All evidence is that this is a database search program for existing collected data, not a data collection program. 2) The NSA training slides being promulgated are years old, and appear to date to before the widespread deployment of opportunistic connection encryption by major Web services. [Now it starts to get amusing ...] 3) XKEYSCORE experience apparently turns up frequently in many people's LinkedIn profiles. 4) XKEYSCORE job listings are opening promoted, e.g.: http://j.mp/17jXcOO (Google+) Hmm.
