AT&T loosens FaceTime restrictions, but only for LTE users on new plans http://j.mp/SGcMOt (ars technica) "AT&T has backed off on its decision to limit Apple's video chat service, FaceTime, to its shared data plans. In a post to the company's public policy blog, AT&T's Senior Executive Vice President Jim Cicconi wrote that AT&T will now support FaceTime over its cell network "with an LTE device" for all of its tiered data plans within the next 8-10 weeks. Still, those who are still using a grandfathered unlimited plan-which are no longer offered to new users-will still be left out of the FaceTime game, as will those customers who are still using devices that can only connect to AT&T's 3G network." - - - Still a blatant net neutrality violation. --Lauren-- Lauren Weinstein (lauren@vortex.com): http://www.vortex.com/lauren Co-Founder: People For Internet Responsibility: http://www.pfir.org/pfir-info Founder: - Network Neutrality Squad: http://www.nnsquad.org - PRIVACY Forum: http://www.vortex.com/privacy-info - Data Wisdom Explorers League: http://www.dwel.org - Global Coalition for Transparent Internet Performance: http://www.gctip.org Member: ACM Committee on Computers and Public Policy Lauren's Blog: http://lauren.vortex.com Google+: http://vortex.com/g+lauren / Twitter: http://vortex.com/t-lauren Tel: +1 (818) 225-2800 / Skype: vortex.com _______________________________________________ nnsquad mailing list http://lists.nnsquad.org/mailman/listinfo/nnsquad
