EFF's Open Wireless Movement http://j.mp/VCfkh8 (Network World) "Forging ahead with an initiative that proved controversial when floated last year, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and nine other groups today are advancing the Open Wireless Movement to encourage ubiquitous sharing of Internet access." - - - This is one of those really cool concepts that -- given the current legal and political environment -- I simply cannot recommend that individuals or businesses participate in unless they have sufficient resources to defend themselves if they become targeted by police actions or lawsuits as a result. If you meet that resource criteria and think you have the stamina to follow through, go for it. Otherwise, probably not. --Lauren-- Lauren Weinstein (lauren@vortex.com): http://www.vortex.com/lauren Co-Founder: People For Internet Responsibility: http://www.pfir.org/pfir-info Founder: - Network Neutrality Squad: http://www.nnsquad.org - PRIVACY Forum: http://www.vortex.com/privacy-info - Data Wisdom Explorers League: http://www.dwel.org - Global Coalition for Transparent Internet Performance: http://www.gctip.org Member: ACM Committee on Computers and Public Policy Lauren's Blog: http://lauren.vortex.com Google+: http://vortex.com/g+lauren / Twitter: http://vortex.com/t-lauren Tel: +1 (818) 225-2800 / Skype: vortex.com _______________________________________________ nnsquad mailing list http://lists.nnsquad.org/mailman/listinfo/nnsquad
