Calif. Gov. Brown disgraces Calif. by tapping disgraced Sheriff Baca to conduct Internet crime study http://j.mp/PgcHky (L.A. Times) "California Gov. Jerry Brown signs a bill directing Sheriff Lee Baca and the Alameda County D.A. to determine whether new laws are needed to curb Web crime." - - - Sheriff Baca isn't only unfit to do this study, he's unfit to be Sheriff -- or perform any other important function for that matter -- he actually belongs in jail himself. If you haven't followed the ongoing investigations here, Baca has been instigated in a horrific long-term prisoner abuse scandal in the infamous L.A. County jail system that he runs, sitting by collecting his paychecks while deputies ran gang-like cliques and systematically abused prisoners. He is a disgrace, and it is a disgrace that Gov. Brown is tapping him to do anything other than resign.
