Registrar "Namecheap" actively *opposes* SOPA http://j.mp/tQ4ZT7 (Yahoo) Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 23, 2011 Namecheap, a leading domain name registrar, web host, and SSL certificate provider, has taken a public stance against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). In a blog post published on December 22nd by the company, they have openly opposed the bill that would strongly affect the freedoms that users have come to appreciate on the Internet. - - - I haven't dealt with Namecheap myself, but a number of persons have been recommending them. Note that actively *opposing* SOPA is very much different than simply "not supporting it" -- or first supporting it and then not supporting it when the heat turned up -- like Go Daddy ( http://j.mp/s04U8i [Lauren's Blog] ). --Lauren-- Lauren Weinstein (lauren@vortex.com): http://www.vortex.com/lauren Co-Founder: People For Internet Responsibility: http://www.pfir.org Founder: - Network Neutrality Squad: http://www.nnsquad.org - Global Coalition for Transparent Internet Performance: http://www.gctip.org - PRIVACY Forum: http://www.vortex.com Member: ACM Committee on Computers and Public Policy Blog: http://lauren.vortex.com Google+: http://vortex.com/g+lauren Twitter: https://twitter.com/laurenweinstein Tel: +1 (818) 225-2800 / Skype: vortex.com _______________________________________________ nnsquad mailing list http://lists.nnsquad.org/mailman/listinfo/nnsquad
