To be a "suggested user" on Google+, Quantity over Quality apparently prevails

http://j.mp/nEmhac (Google+)

I fail to understand why having 100K+ Twitter followers should be a
qualifying factor to be considered for the new official Google+
"Suggested User" list. There are many reasons why Google might wish to
suggest following a user, but Quantity over Quality seems like a
losing proposition that just makes the "rich" even "richer" while
other less noticed but still highly worthwhile persons are bypassed.
Cult of the popular strikes again? Very disappointing.
