AT&T promises to repatriate 5K call centers jobs -- if assimilation of
T-Mobile goes through

  "AT&T Inc. is pledging to bring 5,000 wireless call center jobs,
   currently based abroad, back to the U.S. if it is allowed to proceed
   with its proposed $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA.
   ...
   Beyond the call center operations, AT&T has said it does anticipate
   some workforce duplication after the deal closes, but expects to make
   reductions *largely* through natural attrition." [emphasis added]

Here's a radical idea.  AT&T could show how much they care about the
USA and bring back those jobs now, *regardless* of whether or not the
T-Mobile merger goes through.  And anyone who believes the "largely
through attrition" line, given AT&T's long history of hoodwinking and
outright lying to regulators, needs their head examined.
