AT&T's new text messaging scheme - $20/mo or $0.20/msg

"AT&T said Thursday that it is getting rid of its lower-tier texting
plan that lets people pay $10 a month for 1,000 text messages.
Instead, the company plans to offer new subscribers only one plan:
unlimited texting for $20 a month. Those who don't want to fork over
$20 can choose to pay for each text, starting at 20 cents per message."

The sooner SMS and MMS are stamped out in favor of IP-based solutions,
the better. Of course, the carriers will probably try find some way
to "tax" alternatives as well.
