AT&T just uploaded this video a few minutes ago. As I've noted
previously, they've got a pile of great archival films on their own
site, and are uploading some of the best to YouTube as well. This
1929 animated short explains how the (then newly invented) Western
Electric (AT&T) sound film recording system worked ("Westrex"). A bit
goofy especially at the beginning, and not politically correct by
today's standards for reasons that will become obvious, but definitely
a slice of technology history worth viewing!
