Report: FBI takes down more innocent sites during "server raid" (Here We Go Again) http://j.mp/krjjVk (This message on Google Buzz) - - - http://j.mp/iClKDf ("New York Times" Article) ""Mr. Ostroumow said that the F.B.I. was only interested in one of the company's clients but had taken servers used by "tens of clients." He wrote: "After F.B.I.'s unprofessional 'work' we can not restart our own servers, that's why our website is offline and support doesn't work." The company's staff had been working to solve the problem for the previous 15 hours, he said." - - - One day some crucial site is going to be accidentally pulled down this way by ICE/FBI actions like this. And that's without even considering the international jurisdictional implications. --Lauren-- Lauren Weinstein (lauren@vortex.com): http://www.vortex.com/lauren Co-Founder: People For Internet Responsibility: http://www.pfir.org Founder: - Network Neutrality Squad: http://www.nnsquad.org - Global Coalition for Transparent Internet Performance: http://www.gctip.org - PRIVACY Forum: http://www.vortex.com Member: ACM Committee on Computers and Public Policy Blog: http://lauren.vortex.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/laurenweinstein Google Buzz: http://j.mp/laurenbuzz Tel: +1 (818) 225-2800 / Skype: vortex.com
