Warning re bad behavior by new Adobe Reader update

The following applies at least to Windows platforms. It may also apply
to other platforms, but I have not yet tested in those environments.

Adobe is now aggressively prompting users to upgrade from "Reader 9" to
"Reader X" (apparently not to be confused with "Reader 10" -- nothing
like consistency in version numbering).

If you are a Chrome browser user updated to at least the current
stable browser version 12, you are likely to find that printing of Web
pages no longer functions after this Adobe update.

Apparently the Adobe installation now disables the Chrome PDF viewer
plugin that is used to generate page previews. Without this function,
the internal print command button itself is inoperative.

For Windows at least, if you choose the small "Advanced" link toward
the lower left of the Print preview page, you should be dropped into
your native printer driver functionality, which likely will have its
own print button you can use.

To restore the native Chrome printing, enter:

about:plugins

in the Chrome Omnibar, find "Adobe PDF Plug-in" and click Disable.

Then find "Chrome PDF Viewer" and click Enable.

You may need to restart your browser for this all to take effect.

Very uncool of Adobe to screw around with the existing plugin
configuration, especially without any warning and without asking permission.
