Tennessee bans posting "distressing" images, demands warrantless access to social network data http://j.mp/l54lRW (This message in Google Buzz) - - - http://j.mp/m1vr7g (ars technica) - - - Just plain wrong from *so many* angles that I won't even list them here. Consider it an exercise for the reader. Does this mean that if anyone in Tennessee posts my old yearbook photos from High School to bug me, they could go to jail? Because, man, those photos sure *distressed* me ... as do the politicians behind this sort of abominable legislation. Ah well, plenty of billable hours coming up for the legal teams on this one. --Lauren-- Lauren Weinstein (lauren@vortex.com): http://www.vortex.com/lauren Co-Founder: People For Internet Responsibility: http://www.pfir.org Founder: - Network Neutrality Squad: http://www.nnsquad.org - Global Coalition for Transparent Internet Performance: http://www.gctip.org - PRIVACY Forum: http://www.vortex.com Member: ACM Committee on Computers and Public Policy Blog: http://lauren.vortex.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/laurenweinstein Google Buzz: http://j.mp/laurenbuzz Tel: +1 (818) 225-2800 / Skype: vortex.com
