Source for AT&T Security, Interview, Archival, and other videos

My posting yesterday of an old Western Electric (AT&T) promo film
"fragment" ( http://j.mp/lnyc6X [Google Buzz] ) triggered a number of
people asking if I knew of a source for full-length AT&T-related
productions in standard distribution.

As it happens, I do. AT&T has apparently been pretty busy posting
both new and old videos over on the AT&T Tech Channel, at:

http://j.mp/iPYtdn (AT&T Tech Channel)

Around 600 videos are currently available, covering an enormous range.

AT&T's long-form "cyber threat reports" are online, as are other
videos related to security, privacy, etc. Tech Icons has interviews
including people many of us have known for years. E.g.:

Steve Bellovin: http://j.mp/iQ3Gax

Bill Cheswick: http://j.mp/memgNO

and lots more of the giant names in tech.

The Archives section is really outstanding, with classic Bell System
films going back to the dawn of telephony and forward, covering
technical areas, educational films, recruiting, and numerous other
categories.

Admittedly, there is something a bit surrealistic about watching
scenes from "Time Tunnel" and "Lost in Space" in a 1968 Bell System
film on computers, or sitting here viewing (via Google TV) a 1974
AT&T recruiting film for directory assistance operators.

Old tech meets new tech, indeed.

AT&T is to be congratulated for making these materials available.

However, I'm still strongly opposed to their proposed assimilation of
T-Mobile. Sorry about that, Mother Bell.
