" ... said the bill would stand a better chance of being found constitutional if it were changed so that photographing only the genital region of minors, even if fully clothed, would be outlawed." - - - Yep. Ready to bash your head into the wall yet? Both ridiculous ideas, and simply more steps along the essentially totalitarian path toward the banning of most public photography "for the public good" -- utter hogwash. The same sort of reasoning has been used to attack Google Street View in the name of theoretical, overblown, often paranoid fears, vs. the obvious public good that comes from the availability of such imagery as shot in public places from public thoroughfares. And their idea of only banning what I'll euphemistically call "waist shots" is just laughable as well, especially given the post-production zooming capabilities of typical high-resolution digital cameras and software. I mean, what would happen if we used that basic technology to zoom in on standard, not particularly high resolution Web image of a random tech guy on an old motorcyle, an image that the guy uses on his blog and the result is ( http://j.mp/mvvy59 [Lauren's Blog] ) ...
