[ NNSquad ] Re: AT&T + T-Mobile = GSM Monopoly in USA
To make the point even more clearly -- you will no longer be able to buy a handset and move between carriers in the US. Perhaps ATT was jealous of Verizon's and Sprint's ability to lock users in essentially forever. T-Mobile offers a real alternative. For example you can own your handset and pay less per month. I?m sure there will be neutral in the sense of treating everyone equally badly. Do the naïve anti-regulation people have any problem people being forced to decide which carrier will own them? -----Original Message----- From: nnsquad-bounces+nnsquad=bobf.frankston.com@nnsquad.org [mailto:nnsquad-bounces+nnsquad=bobf.frankston.com@nnsquad.org] On Behalf Of Lauren Weinstein Sent: Sunday, March 20, 2011 15:19 To: nnsquad@nnsquad.org Subject: [ NNSquad ] AT&T + T-Mobile = GSM Monopoly in USA AT&T + T-Mobile = GSM Monopoly in USA "That is all." --Lauren-- Lauren Weinstein (lauren@vortex.com): http://www.vortex.com/lauren Co-Founder: People For Internet Responsibility: http://www.pfir.org Founder: - Network Neutrality Squad: http://www.nnsquad.org - Global Coalition for Transparent Internet Performance: http://www.gctip.org - PRIVACY Forum: http://www.vortex.com Member: ACM Committee on Computers and Public Policy Blog: http://lauren.vortex.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/laurenweinstein Google Buzz: http://j.mp/laurenbuzz Quora: http://www.quora.com/Lauren-Weinstein Tel: +1 (818) 225-2800 / Skype: vortex.com
