Sen. "iPhones are made in USA" McCain joins the "privacy bandwagon"

Sens. John McCain and John Kerry are circulating proposed legislation
to create an "online privacy bill of rights," according to people
familiar with the situation, a sign of bipartisan support for efforts
     to curb the Internet-tracking industry.

I must admit to some concern when it comes to the Senator and
technological matters. With all of his apparently election-driven
180-degree shifts on key issues, it's unclear from minute to minute
where he stands, and how much of his admirable integrity has now been
replaced by expediency.

There was something of a stir a few days ago, when he spoke of Apple's
production of the iPhone and iPad as examples of "Made in America"
goodness -- while of course both of these devices are manufactured
at the massive Foxconn plant in Shenzhen, China. Oops.
