The Communist sympathizers pounce on my previous posting! Egads! I appear to have upset some of the Communist sympathizers out there, with my obviously faux quote: "You know Comrades, if only Stalin could have had one of those FBIs instead of the incompetent KGB, we might have been able to save the great Communist State! Now the Capitalists are having all the fun!" -- Overheard at Russian old folks home Not that they object to the quote per se, but they are upset that I designated KGB as Stalin's Secret Police. In fact, they are correct -- The KGB was formed post-Stalin. During the key periods of the Stalin era the roughly equivalent organization was the even more dreaded MVD. I plead guilty to dramatic license in that quote. KGB is really well known, and the term MVD much less recognized these days. So I foolishly used the former rather than the latter, even though I knew it was historically inaccurate. Everyone feel better now? Good. Get back to work.
