[ NNSquad ] Can you trademark a User-Name?

I have left a phone query with HomeAway's corporate office
(VRBO's parent company) regarding this rather bizarre
communication. I'll report back when I know more.

When I do online business with various vendors who want an email address for me I assign them one of the form <vendor_name>@foo.com. This allows me to easily sort I coming messages, and also identify, and block addresses that get onto spam lists. These custom addresses are known only to the email sender and are never used for other purposes. This is no longer a particularly novel idea and Google now offers a similar option for gmail users by use of User-Name suffixes.
