[ NNSquad ] Why correct spelling matters on Major Web Sites
Greetings. We all know that bad spelling on what *should* be a major Web site page is at least a red flag that the user may not really be on the "official" site and might have been diverted off to a crooked replica. So ... There I was pricing an item on Amazon.com, on their standard "select a payment method" page -- a page that presumably *vast* numbers of people see every day -- when I noticed that the word "difficulties" was misspelled as "dificulties" -- as in "Having dificulties?": http://bit.ly/aWYARO (Saved Amazon page image - on Lauren's Blog) I then spent the next minute or so double-checking to make absolutely sure that I was really on the genuine Amazon site. Yep, it's Amazon. Bizarre. It's a quite short and simple page, and I'm surprised to see such an obvious error. I can't help but wonder how long it has been present. Not the end of the world by any means, but a quick fix is still strongly recommended ... --Lauren-- NNSquad Moderator
