[ NNSquad ] Appeals Court Warm to Comcast in Fight Against FCC - The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times
Prediction: Sooner or later, the FCC (and/or some other agencies) will be directly regulating the Internet (in particular ISPs) in a rather intensive manner. If current courts rule that the existing authority is inadequate, Congress will ultimately provide that authority. Given the Internet's central and growing importance to virtually all aspects of our lives (including increasingly provision of basic telephone services), politicians' sensitivity to complaints from their voting constituents, and the lack of love lost between the dominant U.S. ISPs and most of their subscribers, this rough sequence of events seems inevitable, though its exact timing is unclear and it may not proceed in a straight line. --Lauren-- NNSquad Moderator - - - ----- Forwarded message from David Farber <dave@farber.net> ----- Date: Sat, 9 Jan 2010 08:06:18 -0500 From: David Farber <dave@farber.net> Subject: [IP] Appeals Court Warm to Comcast in Fight Against FCC - The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times Reply-To: dave@farber.net To: ip <ip@v2.listbox.com> http://legaltimes.typepad.com/blt/2010/01/appeals-court-warm-to-comcast-in-fight-against-fcc.html ------------------------------------------- Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/247/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/247/ Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com ----- End forwarded message -----
