NNSquad - Network Neutrality Squad
[ NNSquad ] Nick Weaver
FYI all. Nick Weaver has announced that he has left the NNSquad mailing list: Lauren, folks. I have to conclude the following: This project will be a failure. Period. Because even if you "succeed", success will lead to usage-based pricing. You have proven that you will accept nothing else ... I'll simply note for now that, in my view, usage-based pricing has been in the large ISPs' backburner game plans pretty much all along in recent years, and we'd likely be facing such pricing attempts in any case, especially as ISPs have been rolling out their own video content that competes with external Internet services. Nick also accused me of censorship for not sending out an extremely long, back and forth argument between him and me (that he included in its entirety), which basically was a grossly extended discussion relating to the topic of his assertion above. However, I was half of that discussion, and I intended my remarks to be private. A basic rule of ethical mailing list moderation (as far as I'm concerned) is that the public release of such message threads in a mailing list like this should require the permission of *all* participants in that discussion. Genuinely sorry to see you go, Nick. Best of luck with your endeavors. --Lauren-- NNSquad Moderator
